In July, sales of new cars and LCVs reached 139,968 units in our country, which is 2.4% lower than in the same period of 2018. For 7 months, the dynamics are also negative (-2.4% to 968,718 units).
The top 10 automakers’ groups are still led by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, which sold 50,143 cars in July that is a market share of 35%. Recall that sales of LADA brand are also taken into account here, as AvtoVAZ is a member of this alliance. KIA-Hyundai is the second with 32,835 sold units and a market share of 23.7%. Volkswagen Group is the third one with 17,518 cars and a share of 12.2%. Thus, these three groups together have more than 70% of the Russian car market.
Among the ten groups of represented automakers, only four groups (Volkswagen Group, BMW Group, GAZ LCV, UAZ) fixed the market growth in June, and the largest was fixed by BMW Group (+ 13.3%). The remaining six showed a fall in the range from -0.3% (Mercedes-Benz) to -14.7% (GM Group). The domestic model LADA Granta remained the leader among the models, the sales of which reached 10,652 cars in July (+ 40.2%). LADA Vesta is the second one in the rating. Its sales fell by 0.6% to 8,937 vehicles. KIA Rio is the third with 7,171 units (-8.1%). Hyundai Crossa crossover (5,410 units; + 1.9%) and Hyundai Solaris sedan (4,683 units; -12.5%) finish the top 5.
Note that in July, 8 models from the top 20 had the negative dynamics. Renault Sandero (-24.8%) fixed the largest sales drop and KIA Optima (+ 111.8%) - the maximum growth.
