The structure of dealer networks in terms of brands’ origin in Russia

According to the monitoring conducted by the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, as of July of this year there were 3,376 official dealerships* of sale and maintenance of cars in Russia. At the same time, their number decreased by 74 for six months due to the fact that 313 existing dealer contracts were terminated and 239 new ones were concluded.

Most of all in our country we can see dealerships representing the interests of European car brands. In total, there are 827 of them, which corresponds to almost every fourth car dealership. We should note that for six months their number slightly decreased (-6). Japanese brands have less by one hundred dealers (717 units), which, on the contrary, have increased (+16).

Most of the contracts were terminated with dealers of Chinese automakers. So, for 6 months their number has decreased by 52 and now the “Chinese” have less than 600 dealers in Russia. The interests of Korean brands are represented by 435 companies, which is slightly decreased (-4) in compare with January. The dealers of Russian brands (LADA and UAZ) that have 415 centers are slightly inferior quantitatively. American companies have fewer dealers by almost a hundred (316 units).
