"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
This is due to the long period of development of competencies to create high-quality products
In the first summer month, the automotive market in Russia declined by 3.3% compared to June 2018. At the same time, the market decline is registered only in the mass segment, where sales decreased by 3.2%. The premium segment, on the contrary, increased (+ 2.2%). New vehicle sales in the mass segment came up to 131,909 vehicles, which is 90.7% of the total market. We should mention that only 9 brands in the TOP-25 had positive dynamics. Haval had the best result here; its sales grew 4.4 times.
Geely moved to the second place in terms of growth - almost 4 times increase. American Ford (+ 42.8%) and German Volkswagen (+ 5.7%) should be mentioned among the major market players.
As for 16 brands with negative dynamics the maximum sales decline is retained by Chinese Lifan and Japanese Honda (-75.1% and -66.4%, respectively). Sales of Zotye, Citroen, Chevrolet and Nissan declined by more than 25% in June. We should mention that the largest automakers - Russian LADA (-2%), Korean KIA (-2.6%) and Hyundai (-0.6%) – started to sell fewer vehicles as well.
The demand for premium-segment vehicles came up to 13,524 vehicles last month, which is 9.3% of the market. One half (7 out of 14) of the brands here have negative dynamics, while the other half increase their sales.
The market of Smart decreased more than twice (-67.6%), Jaguar lost almost a quarter (-23%). Lexus and Land Rover reduced their sales by not less than 10% as compared to June 2018.
