"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.

In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.

Where and how many cars are produced in Russia?


In 2018, Russian car plants produced totally 1.77 million units of vehicles, which is more by 13.9% than a year before. After a detailed review of the last year's results, the experts noted that in the structure of automobile production in our country, about a half (46.6%) of them is accounted for only three enterprises: AVTOVAZ, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus and Avtotor.

AVTOVAZ has the largest share in the Russian automotive industry (21.1%). We can say that every fifth car in 2018 was produced in Togliatti. “Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus” (14%) produced every seventh car. Almost every ninth car in the country left the Avtotor conveyor (11.5%).

As for the remaining automakers, with a share in the range of 5–8%, there are four enterprises in the country: Volkswagen Group Rus, GAZ, LADA Izhevsk and Renault Russia. For Toyota Motor, Nissan Manufacturing Rus, this figure is 4.2% and 3.2%, respectively. The share of Ford Sollers, UAZ, PSMA Rus and KAMAZ is in the range from 2% to 3%. It is even less at the remaining manufacturers, and it is about 8% totally.
