"AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS" is an annual project of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", which is a survey of car owners according to a certain methodology and makes it possible to compare assessment indicators over time.
In the spring of 2022 (in addition to the annual autumn wave), the fourth spring wave of the project will be released, which is aimed at identifying consumer preferences in the purchase and operation of summer tires.
This is due to the long period of development of competencies to create high-quality products
The analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" in the press service of AvtoVAZ confirmed that the company plans to leave temporarily the European market. Meanwhile, we decided to find out how many LADA cars and which models were delivered to the countries of the European Union in 2018.
So, for the whole last year, the export volume of cars of the domestic brand to the European Union amounted to 5.1 thousand units. At the same time, 63% of the mentioned amount went to Latvia (3213 units). Also from the countries of the former USSR, there are other Baltic republics - Estonia (333) and Lithuania (132). Recall that all of them are now members of the EU. Among the other such states, Slovakia (609 units), Hungary (454 units) and Bulgaria (306 units) stand out. It should be noted that these are volumes of export deliveries, but not actual sales.
Among the LADA models that are exported to the European Union, the most popular is the 4x4 SUV with a share of more than 70%. In 2018, 3822 vehicles of this family were sent to EU countries, among which 3,631 units are the 3-door version and 191 units are the 5-door versions. Just over 1.2 thousand units in the export volume of LADA to the EU were cars of Vesta family, and the station wagons have almost three-fold superiority over sedans (900 and 308 units, respectively).
The official comment of the press service of AVTOVAZ, which was provided to us, is as follows: “In connection with the tightening of environmental standards in European countries, we are adjusting our export activity in this region. There is no doubt that at some point we will have to leave them for some time. Nevertheless, we have plans to create a global model in close cooperation with our partners from the Alliance and return to these markets”.
It turns out that LADA leaves the European market for some time. Apparently, such decision is connected with the entry into force on September 1st of last year of the WLTP standard, compliance with which will require further additional financial investments. And considering the fact that sales of LADA cars in the European Union are very small (their share is noticeably below 0.1% of the total market), then the company, according to experts of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, made the logical right decision.
