In 2018, sales of new cars in Russia grew by 12.8% in compare with 2017. Both segments - the mass and premium ones - also showed the growth (+ 13.9% and + 7.4%, respectively). Sales of cars of mass brands reached 1 572 246 units in 2018, the share of which is 91.2% of the total sales volume.

It should be noted that 18 brands showed a positive trend among the TOP-25 of leading brands. The highest growth was demonstrated by Zotye - sales of cars of the Chinese brand grew almost 3 times. Japanese Honda (+ 110%) and Mitsubishi (+ 86.6%) also showed high dynamics. Among the seven brands that showed negative dynamics in the mass segment, the largest drop was recorded at the Uzbek Ravon (-65.6%).

Sales of premium-class cars grew by 7.4% in the last year and they were 151,655 units (share - 8.8%). Most of the representatives of this segment are "in the black" (10 of 14 brands). The largest sales growth is observed at Genesis, sales of which increased by 77.6%. The remaining brands demonstrate more “modest” growth rates - from + 2.6% (Lexus) to + 47.5% (MINI). The deepest drop among the premium brands was observed at Smart in 2018 (-26.2%).
