    During the production time (from 2002 to 2014, inclusively) of Opel and Chevrolet, it was assembled in Russia more than 1.5 million vehicles of these brands. Since 2002 it was assembled at “GM-AvtoVAZ" 608.7 thousand units, since 2004 at "Avtotor" (574.1 thousand units) and since 2008 at the "General Motors" (341.6 thousand units).

According to the AEBusiness, by the results of 2016, the Russian car market decreased by 11% to 1 million 425 thousand 721 cars.

History

History of AUTOSTAT analytic agency started in 2003, when the first site version of www.autostat.ru was uploaded and the first reference book “Automotive market in Russia”, which became an annual later, was published. The work on statistics collection and automotive market analysis started as a joint project with LADAONLINE agency and “Sem Verst” weekly newspaper.

Demand for the editions and their appreciation with market players enabled marketing researches to become a core business for the agency.

Over 200 ready marketing reports on different subjects concerning automotive market in Russia and other countries have been published for the last nine years.

Staff and staple of our history

  • On 5 May 2006  Automotive Statistics Ltd. (abbreviation - AUTOSTAT Ltd.) was established and the company started the new stage of its development. Since summer 2006 marketing reports have been published monthly.  
  • In December 2007 AUTOSTAT analytic agency published marketing report “Automobile Component and Spare Part Market in Russia”. This report was preceded by long and thorough research and analytical work, which lasted for a year. Besides data collection and processing, the analysts had to develop their own approach to the market capacity evaluation.  
  • Since 2008 the agency has been collaborating with European company Supplier Business Ltd., specializing in automotive component industry analysis and consulting.
  • Since 2009 we have been preparing monthly reviews of the Russian car  market  as well as providing our customers with on-line data concerning passenger and commercial car parc, sales and registrations with detailed elaboration by all Russian regions.
  • In 2010 our agency together with German company BDW-Automotive launched on-line system for analysing regional automotive data bases SARA , which enables to analyse the car market in details by brands and models taking into consideration other parameters as well as to forecast the market development.
  • In 2011 we started to develop a new trend – holding special conferences for analysts and marketing specialists of the automotive market.
  • Since March 2011 the monthly review of the automotive market in Russia has been available in English.


For all these eight years we have been monitoring the situation in the automotive market and uploading from 10 to 15 information materials at our site daily. All publications are supported by our statistics and analytics.

Our clients are over 1,000 companies, many of them are leading market players in different segments of automotive business.
