The sales of LCV increase more than the market of passenger cars

The sales of light commercial vehicles grow the 11th consecutive month in Russia by the results of November by 62,4% to 15146 units. As the analysts of AUTOSTAT agency remarked, this is the greatest indicator of growth this year. According to the calculations of AUTOSTAT agency, the Russian market of LCV increased by 32,3% for 11 months and it was 127599 vehicles. So, the sales of light commercial vehicles increase faster than the sales of passenger cars (by 28% for 11 months). On the opinion of experts, the sales growth of LCV is provided by the effect of low base from one side (the market of LCV decreased by 50,7% in the previous year) and by the Russian economy recovery, from the other side, in particular, by the indicators improving in the industrial area and in the consumption area. Therewith, two thirds (65,5%) of sales of LCV in Russia consist of domestic brands LCV (GAZ, UAZ and Izh), the rest 34,5% is the foreign vehicles.
The leader of LCV in the Russian market by the results of November is still GAZ there were sold 7326 vehicles of this brand (+75,9%) by occupying 48,4% of market. UAZ is on the second place, which increase the sales of LCV by 20,7% to 2417 units. The third place is occupied by Fiat with the indicator of 1374 sold vehicles that exceeds by 24,3% the previous year indicator. Peugeot remains on the fourth place with a result of 1182 vehicles that is almost 4,2 times more (+316,2%) than in the previous year. Volkswagen closes the row of five leaders with the sales of 1005 light commercial vehicles (+141%).
According to the report Structure and forecast of LCV park in Russia, the park of light commercial vehicles included more than 3, 41 million units as of the beginning of 2010. The light commercial foreign vehicles park has only 34% share and this figure grows very slowly in contrast to the passenger car park where the share of foreign production cars is almost 40% and this figure goes on to grow rapidly.
