    Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the passenger car market in Russia. It covered both new cars, and used ones, and in all federal districts of the country. According to the survey, for the year (from November of 2017 to October of 2018), 48 cars were sold per one thousand Russians, incl. 11 new cars and 37 used ones.

TOP-10 of regions of the Russian Federation in terms of the market volume of new cars

According to the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, in the first quarter of 2019 the volume of the Russian market of new passenger cars was about 323 thousand units. It is less by 1% than in the same period of the last year.

In the regional ranking, the leadership is still held by Moscow, the figure of which during the reporting period was 45.4 thousand units - less by 6% than in January-March of 2018. In the second place there is the neighboring Moscow region with the result of 29.9 thousand cars (+ 11%). The TOP-three is traditionally closed by St. Petersburg (21.7 thousand units; -3%).

Among the non-capital constituent entities of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan has the largest primary car market (14 thousand units; -6%), after which Krasnodar Territory is located (13 thousand units; + 4%). In addition to them, the TOP-10 of regions in terms of the market volume of new cars in the first quarter of 2019 included: Bashkortostan (11 thousand units; -8%), Sverdlovsk (10.2 thousand units; -1%), Samara (9.8 thousand units; -7%), Chelyabinsk (8.3 thousand units; -7%) and Rostov (8.2 thousand units; -4%) regions.

As the experts of the analytic agency “AUTOSTAT” noted, among the leading regions, the positive dynamics of the primary market is noted only in two of them - in the Moscow Region and the Krasnodar Territory.
