On April 3rd, the opening ceremony of the Mercedes-Benz Moskovia automobile plant took place in the Esipovo industrial park near Moscow. Experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to analyze how new brand cars were sold in Russia during the last years.

Obviously, from 2008 to 2018, their sales grew more than 2 times - from 16.8 thousand to 36.2 thousand units. At the same time, at the peak of growth in 2014, the brand managed to sell about 49 thousand cars in our country. In parallel with the quantitative growth in sales, the share of the brand in the market grew (from 0.6% in 2008 it reached 2.7% in 2016) and only slightly decreased in the last two years.

If we consider this share only in the premium segment, then the success of the brand is even more obvious. So, in 2018, the brand's share in the premium segment was 24% - it means that in our country almost every fourth premium sold car was a Mercedes-Benz.

The ranking of the most popular models of the brand in 2018 includes: Mercedes-Benz GLC, E-Klasse, GLE, GLS, C-Klasse. We also note that, according to the announced model range, at least four of the five leaders will be put on the conveyor of the new plant in the near future and the need to import them from other countries will decrease.
