Experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new pickups for the first 10 months of 2018. It covered the two largest cities of the Russian Federation - Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to the study, the most popular pickup in both cities is one model.

In Moscow, the volume of the market for new pickups during the reporting period was 887 cars - more by 15.5% than in January - October of 2017. The leader here was the Mitsubishi L200, which was bought by 272 Muscovites, which is 3.3 times higher than the result of a year ago. In the second place there is Toyota Hilux with the result of 232 sold units (-18.6%). Domestic UAZ Pickup closes the TOP-three, sales of which were 165 units (-13.2%).

In St. Petersburg, the market volume of new pickups for 10 months of the current year was 542 cars - 1.5 times more than a year ago. The leader here is the same as in Moscow - Mitsubishi L200. It was bought by 208 St. Petersburg citizens (2.9 times increase). The second place of the local ranking is occupied by the UAZ “Pickup” (164 units; an increase of 2.2 times), while the third is occupied by Toyota Hilux (78 units; -31.6%).

At the same time, as previously reported by AUTOSTAT, the best-selling pickup truck in Russia for the first 10 months of 2018 remains the UAZ model, which for this period was sold in amount of 2,953 units (+ 15%).
