Does the brand of the vehicle depend on the age of its owner? The experts of AUTOSTAT analytic agency carried out this research using their database, collected during the surveys of different brand car owners from 2015 to 2018. In total, more than 163,000 questionnaires of respondents aged from 18 to 65 were processed.

The research revealed that the average car owner in Russia is 36 years old, and Mercedes, KIA and Ford are more often mentioned among the brands owned by the people of this age group.

The data processing also showed that the vehicle brand does depend on the age of its owner.  E.g. BMW and Infiniti vehicle owners are the youngest; the average age of owners of these brands is 33.

SsangYong and Great Wall vehicle owners are the eldest; their average age is 41. The closest to the all-Russian indicator of the average age of car owners were Toyota, LADA, Audi (35 years old), as well as Nissan, Hyundai and Volkswagen (37 years old).

The largest share (44%) of the respondents, who took part in the surveys, belongs to 25 - 34 year-old vehicle owners. More than a quarter of respondents (26%) are from 35 to 44 years old. Other 13% are car owners aged 45 to 54. The youngest (under 24) and the oldest (over 55) owners generate 10% and 7% of the total number of respondents, respectively.
