The secondary market of electric cars continues to grow rapidly. So, according to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", in the 1st quarter of 2018, 332 electric vehicles with mileage were sold in Russia, which is 2.9 times more than a year ago (115 units). As experts of the agency noted, such a sharp increase in the popularity of electric cars in the secondary market is due to the import of Nissan Leaf to the Far East from neighboring Japan. It is this model that accounts for over 90% of all resale of electric vehicles in our country.

In January - March of the current year, 310 units of Nissan Leaf were registered, against 94 units a year before. More than 40% of them remained in the Far Eastern Federal District (134 units), another 20% moved to Siberia (63 units), and the remained one third went to their new owners in the country (113 units). In addition to the Nissan Leaf, in the secondary market, in the 1st quarter, 22 other electric cars with a mileage of Tesla were sold (S-9 sedan, X-2 crossover), Mitsubishi i-MiEV (7 units), BMW i3 (3 units) and Renault Twizy (1 unit).

We should note that most of them settled in Moscow and the Moscow region (13 units). Recall that earlier experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" found that sales of new electric vehicles in Russia in the first quarter of 2018 grew by 23% up to 16 units. Thus, the secondary market of electric cars in our country is 21 times larger than the primary market.
