In March the Ukrainian market showed a drop for the first time since 2016


According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the volume of the market of new cars in Ukraine in March 2018 was 6,283 units, which is less by 9% than the result of a year ago. Thus, the Ukrainian car market for the first time since 2016 demonstrated a fall. Recall, the last time it showed a negative trend in December of 2015.

The leader of the Ukrainian market in the first spring month was again the Japanese Toyota, which sold 871 cars - more by 12% than a year before. The second place was occupied by the French Renault, which in March demonstrated a decrease in sales by 29% to 661 cars. In the third place there is Skoda - the Czech brand was chosen by 431 buyers (+ 12%). The top-five also included Japanese Nissan (426 units, + 15%) and German Volkswagen (416 units, -19%).

We also noted that Audi A3 is the best-selling model in the country for the second consecutive month, 242 Ukrainians gave preference to it in March, which is 35 times more than a year ago. Toyota RAV4 lost to the leader just a little bit (241 units, + 10%), and Renault Duster closed the top three (235 units, + 5%). The Toyota Camry (208 units; + 96%) and Hyundai Tucson (208 units, + 34%) were also in the top five of the Ukrainian car market with the same results.
