The experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" came to this conclusion as a result of the evaluation of sales of new cars in Russia by market segments in October of 2017. So, in the second month of autumn, 58.9 thousand crossovers and SUVs were sold in our country. At the same time, B-class cars were sold in the amount of 51.4 thousand units.

Taking into account the fact that for the first 9 months of this year the sales figures of both segments were absolutely equal (by 427.5 thousand units), it turns out that by the results of 10 months the SUV segment becomes the leader of the Russian market. Now it has 486,400 sold units against 478,900 units of B-class cars. Thus, the share of SUV and B segments is 41.1% and 40.5%, respectively.

As the experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the redistribution of demand towards the SUV segment is explained by seasonal factors, as the sales of such cars is growing, as a rule, in the autumn and in the winter.
