Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia grew by 17.3% in October up to 148,597 vehicles. According to the results of ten months of 2017, the Russian car market grew by 11.3% to 1 million 277 thousand 938 cars, according to the data of the Association of European Businesses.

As noted in the AEB, the recovery of the Russian car market in October continued, and this is the eighth month of positive dynamics in a row, which is the longest period of continuous growth in the market of passenger and light commercial vehicles since 2012. Of course, the size of today's market is far from the record reached that year. However, given the current pace of recovery, annual sales in 2017 have a good chance of reaching the level, at which the market was in 2015, noted in the association. Recall, according to the current forecast of the AEB, in 2017, the Russian car market could grow by 10.8% up to 1.58 million cars, thus interrupting the 4-year period of the fall.

Leadership in the Russian car market is held by AVTOVAZ, which sold 28,638 LADA cars in the last month, which is more by 23% than a year ago. The second place in terms of sales was occupied by KIA - sales of 17407 cars (+ 16%) provided the Korean brand with the leadership in the foreign car market. The third place is occupied by Hyundai with the index of 15,712 sold cars, which is more by 11% than in the previous year. Then Renault follows - cars of this brand were chosen by 13,036 buyers (+ 18%). Volkswagen was the fifth one, the sales of which were 8,014 cars (+ 15%).

The TOP-10 of the best-selling brands also included in October Toyota (7366 units, -5%), Nissan (6369 units, + 27%), GAZ (6145 units, + 10%), Skoda (5720 units), + 24%) and Ford (4837 units, + 33%).
