The Russian car market grew by 17% in August


Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles grew by 16.7 % in Russia in August to 132,742 cars. According to the results of eight months of 2017, the Russian car market grew by 9.6% to 980,921 cars, according to the data of the Association of European Businesses.

Recall, according to the current forecast of the association, in 2017, the Russian car market may grow by 4% to 1.48 million cars, thus interrupting the 4-year period of the fall.

Leadership in the Russian car market is held by AVTOVAZ, which sold 26,211 cars in the last month, which is more by 25% than a year ago. The second place in terms of sales was occupied by KIA - sales of 15,050 cars (+ 29%) provided the Korean brand with the leadership in the foreign car market. Hyundai keeps the third place with the indicator of 13,446 sold cars, which is more by 13% than in the previous year. Then Renault follows - cars of this brand were chosen by 11,163 buyers (+ 22%). Toyota heads the list of the top-five, with sales of 7,904 cars (-7%). The TOP-10 of the best-selling brands is occupied by Volkswagen (7,171 units, + 16%), Nissan (5,885 units, + 21%), Skoda (5,048 units, + 10%), GAZ (4,988 units, + 32%) and Ford (4,222 units, + 24%).
