In the first quarter, Russians spent 400 billion rubles on the purchase of cars


The analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a survey of the market of new cars in Russia and it calculated the revenue from their sale in the first quarter of 2017. According to the results of the survey, during this period, Russians spent 400.9 billion rubles on the purchase of cars, which is more by 3.1% than in the same period of the last year.

The leader by revenue in the Russian market was again the Japanese Toyota, which from the sale of new cars received 44.6 billion rubles - less by 12.5%  than a year before. In turn, the second place was taken by the Korean KIA (39.5 billion rubles, + 22.5%), which headed this rating in January-February. The third place is occupied by the German Mercedes-Benz, which managed to earn 33.4 billion rubles (-15.2%).

The fourth position is kept by the domestic LADA with an indicator of 32.7 billion rubles, more by 15.1% than in the first quarter of 2016. The top-five of leaders is closed by Korean Hyundai (32 billion rubles, + 17.7%). The top-10 by the revenue in the Russian market also included: Nissan (25.2 billion rubles, -2.5%), BMW (25.2 billion rubles; + 1.3%), Volkswagen (23 billion rubles; + 37.1%), Renault (21.5 billion rubles, + 27.5%) and Lexus (20.2 billion rubles, + 7.6%). Indicators of other brands by the results of three months of 2017 are below the level of 20 billion rubles.
