Foreign cars occupy almost 60% of parc of passenger cars in Russia

Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of passenger cars in Russia as of July 1st, 2016. According to the study, the share of foreign cars was 59% of the parc of the total number of registered cars in the country, which corresponds to 24.25 million units.

Leadership among foreign brands is kept by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota (3,57 million units), the share of which is about 9% of the whole Russian parc. Then the products of another Japanese brand follow - Nissan (1,91 million units). The third position is occupied by the Korean brand Hyundai (1,62 million units). The top-five among the cars also occupied by American Chevrolet (1,58 million units) and the French Renault (1,46 million units).

Accordingly, the share of Russian brands is 41% of parc of passenger cars. Undisputed leader among them is LADA, whose share exceeds 33%, ie the country 1,384,0000 VAZ cars operated. The rest domestic brands have less than 8% of the Russian parc, which is equivalent to 2.99 million units.
