    For the last year, 1 million 671.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is more by 13.3% than in the last year. At the same time, in December of 2018, sales of new cars were 158.3 thousand units, which is more by 3.9% than a year ago. As for crossovers and SUVs, their sales in January-December grew by 18.1% in compare with 2017 and they were 729.2 thousand cars. The segment's share in total sales grew by 1.7 percentage points and reached 43.6%.



KAMAZ expects new export markets


KAMAZ expects to increase deliveries of cars to Vietnam, said the CEO of company, Sergei Kogoghin. "The signed agreement and the actions of our distributor in Vietnam will provide a very significant growth: last year we had 700 vehicles (delivered), this year we expect to go over a thousand", - said Mr. Kogoghin, who was cited by the agency "TASS".

By talking about exports, he reminded about the contract for the supply of cars to Cuba. According to him, the volume of shipments will be 1.5 ths. vehicles. "There are several African countries; it is rather big contracts - up to 500 cars per country, including Zimbabwe. It is not one contract", - said the head of KAMAZ.

Totally in 2016 KAMAZ expects to sell for export 7 ths. vehicles (among planned for a sale 32 thousand vehicles). "The most important problem of export was the elimination of losses in the CIS markets", - explained Mr.Kogoghin. The representative of KAMAZ said that against the backdrop of falling exports in the CIS countries the share of exports to non-CIS countries rose from 28% in 2015 to 58.5% for the 5 months of 2016. As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", in 2015 the company has reduced exports by 4% up to 5.9 thousand vehicles.

In January-April of 2016 KAMAZ shipped to consumers, including abroad 6.47 thousand commercial vehicles, which is more by 30% than the same period of the last year. KAMAZ’s share in the Russian market increased from 54% to 65% in January-April.
