For 10 years, the market share of Korean brands in Russia rose from 13% to 23%

Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" for the year of its 10th anniversary continues to publish interesting facts that have taken place in Russia for the last ten years.

According to the results of the research that was made by agency experts, during this time the share of sales of new passenger cars of Korean brands in Russia grew by 10 percentage points. If by the results of 2006 this figure was 13%, then now, after ten years, it has already reached 23%. We should note also that the market share of "Koreans" during all this time has shown the continuous growth. And most dramatically, it increased during the current crisis, namely in 2015: from 19% to 23%.

For the last ten years it was changed the structure of sales and the model structure of the Korean brands. So, in 2006, the most popular such cars were Daewoo Nexia, Hyundai Accent, KIA Spectra, and today it is, first of all Hyundai Solaris and KIA Rio, which includes the top-three leaders of the Russian market.

Analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that the growth of the market share of Korean brands in Russia is largely connected with the wide model range and the flexible price policy, which allows potential buyers to offer products with an optimal price-performance ratio.
