KIA holds the leadership among foreign cars in October

Russian distributor of KIA sold in October 14422 vehicles, which is less by 17.1% than a year ago. Last month, the market share of KIA exceeded again the mark of 11%. For the first ten months of 2015 sales of KIA vehicles were 134,160 (-13.3%), while the market share of the Korean brand was more than 10%, wrote the press service of KIA Motors Rus.

Thus, KIA remains the leader among foreign brands in Russia as by the results of October, so for the first ten months of this year, noted the analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT". As previously reported, the Russian Hyundai dealers in October sold 14145 cars – less by 8.1% than a year before. For the first ten months of 2015 sales of the brand were 133,530 vehicles, which is less by 9.9% than in the same period of the last year.

Traditional bestseller of brand, KIA Rio, showed a sales growth of 27% in October – there were sold 9017 sedans and hatchbacks of this model. From the beginning of year, 80,667 KIA Rio found their customers, which is more by 10% compared to the last year.

The second position in terms of sales was occupied by the crossover KIA Sportage in October, which was sold in the amount of 1805 cars (-46%). For ten months of 2015 the demand for KIA Sportage was 16248 KIA Sportage cars (-32%).

The third place by popularity at the end of October is belonged to family of compact models KIA cee'd: 1435 sold cars (-56%). From the beginning of year, this line of models attracted 16223 buyers (34%).

Also the top five of the most popular models included crossover KIA Soul car with 506 cars (4770 units since the beginning of year) and KIA Cerato sedan, with sales of 431 units in October (3247 units for the year).

October was a record month in 2015 in terms of demand for business sedan KIA Optima. Last month, sales of this model increased by 93% to 412 units, and from the beginning of the year they were 2261 cars, it coincides with the same period in 2014.

The record in 2015 was October and for the flagship sedan KIA Quoris, which was sold in the amount of 43 units. The growth in demand was caused by the updating of the model and the emergence of a powerful version with the engine 5.0 V8 (424 hp).
