The analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new cars, which covered manufacturers from China. According to the results of the study, sales of new Chinese cars (according to the AEB, taking into account LCV) in February of 2017 were about 1.9 thousand units - less by 28% than a year ago.
In 2014, it was sold 87 million new passenger cars in the world, which is more by 3.4% than in 2013. Russia has 2.9% of the global car market and it is in 8th place in the world in sales of new cars.
Let’s consider the value of the Russian automotive market in overall car sales by the world brands. The largest share of Russia in global sales – is belong to Ssang Yong (17,7%). Renault (9,3%) is in the second place. Skoda (8,2%) - is the third brand by share of sales in the Russian market in a global scale. The fourth position was taken by the Japanese brand Mitsubishi (7,2%). The top five leaders is closed by KIA (7,0%).
In addition, the top-10 included Opel (6,1%), Land Rover (5,5%), Infiniti (4,8%), Great Wall (4,0%), Lexus (3,8%).
If we talk about other brands that are going to leave the Russian market, then the share of Russia at Chevrolet at the end of 2014 was 2.6%, and at Cadillac- 0,5%.
