Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new cars, which covered the segment of SUVs and crossovers. According to the survey, the leader of this market segment in Moscow and St. Petersburg at the end of January of 2017 was the new crossover Hyundai Creta.

Financial capacity of the largest market in the country in the Moscow region has declined, but others could grow by tens of percent - mainly due to the replacement of low-cost cars by more expensive models, experts say.

Car producers will be able to pay a scrappage duty in Russia already from August of this year. But only importers of foreign cars will have to pay “cash” and car producers that work in Russia will be able to present guarantees for the recycling.

According to Rosstat, Russian enterprises produced 278,000 passenger cars during two first months of 2012 – that is 20.9% more than a year ago. Thus in February 159,000 cars were assembled, that is 24.3% more than a year ago.

In September 2011 companies imported to Russia 76,700 passenger cars, which is 14% more than in 2010. At that the share of used cars is less than 1% of the import. As compared to this August the import increased by 8%. Nissan, which imported to Russia 10,100 cars (+23%) became the leader in September. By the way it is the first “ten thousandth” result after the April’s Toyota record (13,300 cars).

By the results of 2010, there were equipped by automatic transmission 49,8% of foreign cars, which were sold in the Russian market. The result increased by 5,6% (from 44,2%) since the previous year. These data were received by the experts of analytical deprtement of AUTOSTAT agecny, according to the results of sales researches of passenger cars and light comemrcial vehicles in 2010 and 2009.

There were produced 1208,4 thousand passenger cars in Russia in 2010 and the production growth was 101,9% in compare with 2009. The sharp rise of car production is explained by the “effect of low base”. The research, which was conducted by analytical agency AUTOSTAT, showed that 50 Russian cities have about 34% of sales in the secondary market. Most of sales of used cars were registered in Moscow. By the results of 2010 there were resold 251 thousand cars and it exceeded twice the sales of St. Petersburg. Novosibirsk is on the third place with the less indicator – 59 thousand cars

From January till August 2011, Russian dealers sold over 1.19 million foreign passenger cars (including LCV). The result is 447,400 cars or 59.9% more than a year ago (746,900 cars). Meanwhile in August foreign car sales in Russia were 160,000 cars, that is 42.9% more than a year ago
