    During 12 months of 2010 Russian enterprises produced 150,400 domestic and foreign trucks, that is 65% more than a year ago. The production is still highly consolidated: three enterprises manufacture a little less than 80% of the cars. The share of GAZ is 47% of the total production in the country, the plant assembled over 70,000 commercial cars, that is 78% more than in 2009.

    Skoda enters the economy car segment with the Citigo

    The Czech car manufacturer Skoda continues to extend its model lineup and introduces its seventh model – the Citigo. This 3.56 meter car will enable Skoda to enter A-segment. The model will come on sale in the Czech market this year and will be introduced in other European countries in Summer 2012. Russian consumers will see the car during Moscow motor show next year in August, and in September ordering will start, the information about packages and prices will become available before the beginning sales

    Sales of electric cars in Europe grew 10 times

    In the first half of 2011 the sales of electric cars in Europe grew 10.3 times up to 5,222 cars. However the share of environmentally-friendly cars in the European car market is still insignificant – at present it is 0.07% vs 0.01% a year ago. According to JATO Dynamics, the government programs of electric car sales promotion, which are active in many European countries, as well as subsidies do not affect the sales of environmentally-friendly cars directly

    AvtoVAZ management decided on the candidature of IzhAvto plant’s manager. According to RBK daily with reference to its sources, after AvtoVAZ purchase Joint Automotive Group, which owns assets of the Izhevsk enterprise, Aleksey Alekseev, who is CFO and corporate development manager of Joint Automotive Group now, could become the head of the plant.     NefAZ intends to increase its net profit more than 20 times in 2011

    The Neftekamsk car plant intends to increase its net profit 21.7 times in 2011 – from 4.6 million roubles in 2010 up to 100 million roubles this year. Sales proceeds are planned to be increased by 19.4% up to 7.712 billion roubles. According to NefAZ the growth of financial highlights will be caused by the extention of bus model lineup, including ones on KAMAZ chassis with Euro-4 engine, development of new and modernization of serial trucks and trailer vehicles using low-alloy steel and aluminium alloys

    AvtoVAZ guarantees prices for the Lada Granta under advance order

    Every one, who has ordered the Lada Granta or makes advance order at AvtoVAZ site www.lada.ru (granta.lada.ru) and signs preliminary sale agreement with a dealer in the nearest future (car quota is limited) will be able to buy a car for a price guaranteed by the plant – 229,000 roubles for Standard and 256,000 roubles for Norma package. The beginning of the new Lada Granta sales is planned in December 2011. Advance ordering of the LADA Granta started on 7 September. In November the Lada Granta will be available for test drive

    Preferential car lending program will finish in 2011

    Government program of preferential car lending finishes on 31 December 2011 and is not planned to be prolonged yet. This information was got by Russian newspaper from Ministry of Industrial Trade. They also noticed that $3.2 billion, planned by Ministry of Finance in the project of federal budget for 2012-2013 for compensation to the banks taking part in the government program, are not additional financing but government compensation of banks’ expenses for earlier lending

    According to PricewaterhouseCoopers data, in August passenger cars market in Russia came up to about $5.2 billion in terms of money.
