According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", in February of 2017 the volume of the market of passenger cars with a run in Russia was almost 360 thousand units, which is less by 2.9% than a year ago.

Sales of new cars in Russia by authorized dealers started to grow actively only 10 years ago. In 2005, it was sold 614 thousand of such cars.
Over the last 10 years, parc of cars in Russia grew by almost 60% - from 25.57 million units at the beginning of 2006 to 40.85 million units of the beginning of 2015. At the same time the parcs of the leading European countries are growing with much slower pace.
Only 40% of car owners trust fully the work at service centers. Therewith, customers have more loyal attitude in the premium segment: 55% of respondents trust the service from the dealer. In the mass segment of foreign cars, this figure is average - 42%.
According to a study, conducted by the agency "AUTOSTAT", only 44% of car owners have no fears, by giving the car at the service center. Three-quarters of them (75%) responded that they completely trust the service center of authorized dealer.
The ranking leaders on the index of repeat purchases are Mercedes Benz (66%), Volvo (59%) and Volkswagen (55%), and the clear outsider – is Daewoo (8%). The Top-five of leaders also includes Toyota (51%) and BMW (48%).
Over the last 8 years the Russian market of new passenger cars already suffered the crisis, when the dynamics of the sales went to the "minus". So, from October of 2008 to April of 2010 the monthly dynamics of the market of new cars showed the negative values.
During the production time (from 2002 to 2014, inclusively) of Opel and Chevrolet, it was assembled in Russia more than 1.5 million vehicles of these brands. Since 2002 it was assembled at “GM-AvtoVAZ" 608.7 thousand units, since 2004 at "Avtotor" (574.1 thousand units) and since 2008 at the "General Motors" (341.6 thousand units).
Structures of new cars market of Russia and St. Petersburg are quite different. If the absolute leader of Russia is Lada, then Nissan brand pushed a domestic producer from the leading position in the North capital.
