In the first half of 2013 AUTOSTAT specialists prepared marketing report “Passenger cars component manufacturers in Russia”, which is a part of thorough research of car component and spare part market.  

This report contains profiles of 353 automotive component companies in Russia. A quarter of this number or 90 enterprises are foreign companies, other ones are Russian (263 companies), many of which have joint ventures with foreign partners. We also included some companies located in neighboring countries (Ukraine, Belorussia), whose core market is Russia. 

We should also mention that automotive component production remains the most problem segment of the Russian automotive industry. Traditional Russian automotive component manufacturers focus mostly on old Russian automotive plants with outdated model lineups. According to the most representatives of the new Russian automotive industry (foreign car assembly enterprises), most Russian suppliers are unable to offer the required price-quality relationship. 

There are two schemes for global suppliers entering the Russian market: establishment of an own enterprise or a joint venture with a Russian partner. The last scheme was preferred in the first stage as foreign manufactures did not know local business peculiarities, had language barrier and in order to pass bureaucratic barriers. However today the scheme with 100% foreign enterprise prevails. In the future new component enterprises will be established this way.
