Buses from the USSR: how many of them remain in Russia?

According to the data of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, almost 50 thousand Soviet-made buses are registered in our country, by having a year of release until 1992. It is 12% of the total bus fleet of the Russian Federation (as of January 1st, 2019).

About 45% of such vehicles came off the assembly line of the Kurgan Bus Plant - there are 22.3 thousand KAVZ buses of the Soviet era in the country. About 30% of buses manufactured in the USSR are presented by the PAZ brand (14.8 thousand units). Lvov Plant has a share of 15% - in Russia there are 7.5 thousand “LAZ” vehicles born in the Ukrainian SSR.

Also, at the beginning of the year, we registered 4.6 thousand “Soviet” LIAZ buses and almost 500 units of Tajikistan vehicles (during the USSR, they were produced at the Chkalovsky Bus Plant in the Tajik SSR).
