St. Petersburg Nissan factory produced 370 thousand cars for 10 years

St. Petersburg factory Nissan, which celebrates 10 years since the start of production in 2019, produced 370,000 cars during its operation. From the first day, the company has the full cycle production of cars, including welding, painting and body assembly. At the first stage, Nissan invested about $ 200 million in its own production creating in Russia, then in 2014 other 167 million Euros were invested in the production capacity expanding, the press service of the Japanese brand reported.

Today, the number of employees of the plant is 2,000 people, and the production capacity allows the output of up to 100 thousand cars per year. Currently, the Nissan factory in St. Petersburg produces X-Trail, Qashqai and Murano crossovers. In 2018, the factory produced 56,525 cars, setting a record annual output for the history of Nissan in Russia. Nissan cars produced at the factory in St. Petersburg are delivered to the markets of the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan. In 2018, shipments amounted to 2,725 cars.
