New car sales fell 12.5% in Nizhny Novgorod


According to the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, the market volume of new passenger cars in Nizhny Novgorod was 6,109 units for 5 months of 2019, which is a 12.5% drop in compare with the same period of the previous year. Note that among million-plus cities the market fell even more strongly in Kazan (-15%) and Omsk (-13.5%).

The most popular brand in the car market of Nizhny Novgorod is the Russian LADA - it owns 18.4% of the total volume. The Korean brand KIA has a slightly smaller share (17.8%), while the market share of other brands does not exceed 10%. So, at Hyundai, the share is 9.9%, at Volkswagen - 7.8%. Thus, these four brands together accounted for almost 54% of the local market.
