Plants of Leningrad region will receive tax "discount"

Parliament of Leningrad region has approved a bill that provides tax relief of 50% of the property tax rate for car manufacturers in the region. It was due to the difficult economic situation in the automotive industry. Reduced property tax rate by 50% will compensate the part of the costs associated with the launch into production of the updated model range of vehicles. The exemption will be valid for a limited period - from January 1st, 2016 to December 31st, 2018, informed the press office of the governor and the government of the Leningrad region.

According to the developers of the draft law, such a measure of regional support will help automakers in the difficult macroeconomic conditions, to offer consumers a competitive price for cars made in Leningrad region, and it will contribute the social stability in the automotive industry and related industries.

"We hope that this law will create more favorable conditions for accommodation in the Leningrad region of new assembly plants and it will support existing production", - said the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko.
